Azerbaijan is ready to enhance economic ties with Russian regions. According to the Azerbaijani leadership, such cooperation plays an important role in bilateral relations.
Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov also pays special attention to Dagestan's cooperation with Azerbaijan. Addressing attendees of the 5th Azerbaijani-Russian Forum held in Gabala in June, the Dagestani president noted that Azerbaijani-Dagestani trade turnover amounted to $231 million.
According to Abdulatipov, this figure may be increased in future. "We should enhance our mutual ties, because the Dagestani economy is developing rapidly," he said. Such cooperation would be mutually beneficial, he added.
"Azerbaijan is cooperating with us actively. Our Azerbaijani partners have already invested $50 million in our republic," he said.
