Georgian Vice Prime Minister Kakha Kaladze expressed incomprehension regarding President Georgy Margvelashvili’s statement on the death of Erosi Kitsmarishvili, Georgian ex-ambassador to Russia, founder of Rustavi-2 TV and ex-candidate for Rustavi mayor, Georgia Online reports.
Margvelashvili expressed condolences to Kitsmarishvili’s relatives and ordered investigators to speed up their studies of the case.
Kitsmarishvili’s bodyguards found him dead in his car in an underground parking lot in his house in the center of Tbilisi. A gun registered by Kitsmarishvili on the day of his death was found. The main police theory is suicide.
Friends and colleagues of Kitsmarishvili do not believe he committed suicide and claim that he was in a normal mood that day. Prosecutors have initiated a case into abetment of suicide.
