Poland promises to detain Ahmed Zakayev

The Polish state prosecutor has ordered the arrest of the head of the
so-called Ichkeria republic, Ahmed Zakayev, if he arrives for a
'Universal Chechen Congress' on September 16-18, ITAR-TASS reports.

The rules of international persecution require all Interpol members to
arrest criminals on their wanted list, the press-secretary of the main
police commandant Mariush Sokolovsky said.

Russia put Zakayev on the wanted list for terrorism. He currently
lives in the UK, which provided him with political asylum.
