Migrants willing to live and work in Russia will have to pass special tests in Russian history and law. In order pass these tests the applicants will have to answer 40 percent of the questions correctly.
According to Anzhela Dolshikova, labour migrants will have to know at least 19 historical dates and 50 historical figures.
The regulation was brought forward in response to vehement criticism of right-wing politicians who believe that migrants arriving in Russia often cannot speak the Russian language and do not integrate into Russian society.
