Syrian ambassador says US supports violence in Palestine

Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad says international bodies are doing nothing to stop the violence in Palestine and do not support refugees leaving the region, which is now experiencing what the diplomat calls "Israeli aggression,"

According to the Syrian envoy, the United States is trying to use the UN Security Council as its political tool. The US "supports the ongoing violence," Haddad says.

Ambassador Haddad represents the al-Assad regime, which is not recognized as a legitimate power by the US and its European allies. Instead, the US, the EU and Turkey maintain diplomatic ties with the rebels.
