Talmay Trading (registered on Virgin Islands, UK) has been identified as the owner of the oil seized by Texas State Police, RIA Novosti reports.
The United Kalavryta tanker, carrying a million barrels of oil from Iraqi Kurdistan worth $100 million, approached the Texas coast on Sunday. The Iraqi government accused the regional authorities of Kurdistan of illegal oil sales, so the U.S. detained the tanker. The ship will be freed after the oil is offloaded.
