Turkey's president Abdullah Gul to resign in August

Turkish President Abdullah Gul is going to leave his office in August when his term ends. Gul is not going to run for president for another term,

"I am going to leave my office on August 28. I leave my duties with a feeling of conciliation. I did my best to serve my country properly in accordance with the Turkish Constitution. I have always been a champion of democracy, the rule of law and human rights," the news agency cites the Turkish president as saying.
