Court in Tbilisi orders former president's arrest

On Friday night Tbilisi City Court ordered the arrest of former president and founder of the opposition United Georgian Movement party, Mikheil Saakashvili, who now lives abroad. The president is charged with abuse of power.

Saakashvili, who is now in New York, told Georgia's Rustavi-2 TV channel that he was not going to return to Georgia in order to be interrogated.

The former president believes the case is politically motivated.
