North Caucasus Federal District envoy Alexander Khloponin has arrived in Chechnya on his first official visit, RIA Novosti said.
Khloponin, who is also a deputy prime minister, was met at Grozny airport by Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov.
"I want to get along with the local people, with this wonderful land, and no doubt, during this visit we will work out a strategy for the further development of the republic," Khloponin said.
Kadyrov told journalists that he wanted to show Khloponin buildings and other objects in dire need of funding for reconstruction.
Apart from Grozny, the envoy will also visit the city of Gudermes.
