Masoud Barzani, the political leader of the Iraqi Kurds, has asked for international military assistance to fight the Islamic State. The U.S. has started a fourth air raid on the militants at Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Interfax reports.
The Kurds took back Gver and Mahmour in Nineveh Province. The Kurdish army the Peshmerga managed to defeat the Islamic State for the first time. Yazd Kurds left their homeland in the western part of Iraq.
