Agriculture experts of 28 EU countries have started a technical council in Brussels to discuss Russia’s ban on EU and U.S. food imports. Roger White of the European Commission said that EU countries needed information about the potential losses the ban may cause, ITAR-TASS reports.
White noted that the talks may be followed by a session of EU ministers for agriculture and food to exchange opinions and compensatory payments for European food-makers.
According to preliminary evaluations, Russia has blocked imports of European food worth over €7 billion. The compensation fund totals only €420 million.
