Kadyrov wants more Chechens in top positions

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov wants to see more Chechens in top
posts in the Russian republic.

He pointed out that the republic’s administration and the security
services were dominated by officials from different regions.

“As if Chechens are not Russians,” he said in an interview with
Russian television.

He also said that "not a single Chechen general was attached to any
other region of Russia."

"Most of the Interior Ministry’s officers, 900 people, have been sent
from other regions,” he said.

He also called for the appointment of a Chechen to a high-up government post.

"Why not to appoint one of them at a high post to show that Chechens
are citizens of Russia," - Interfax quoted Kadyrov as saying.
