Azerbaijani media review (August 10-14, 2014)

Russian, Azerbaijan and Armenian presidents - Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Sargsyan - have recently met in Sochi. The leaders have focused on the situation surrounding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Azerbaijani media are still discussing the issue. 

 

"In fact no one expected much from this meeting," Azerbaijani political analyst Rasim Musabekov is quoted as saying by News-Azerbaijan. "The parties were believed to ease the tensions in Karabakh and intensify the dialogue with President Putin's mediation." 
The expert also stressed that Azerbaijan is considering all possible ways out of the conflict. All such ways are real, he inderlined. "One should be ready that the situation may explode," he said. 

 

Azerbaijani media paid special attention to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's statement, saying that Azerbaijan is responsible for increasing tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh. 

 

"Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's retorts show that Armenia is run by extremists," representative of the Azerbaijani presidnetial staff Ali Gasanov is quoted as saying by AzerTaj.

 

According to Gasanov, Armenia does not realize how greately Azerbaijan has changed. The country's military forces are indeed strong and Armenia should watch itself, the politicians is quoted a saying.
