Kiev announces new rules for Russia’s Aeroflot and Transaero

The Ukrainian State Aviation Service has limited flights over the country’s territory for Aeroflot and Transaero. They make regular flights to Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Greece and Egypt and will now follow a special regime of transit flights through Ukraine, Interfax reports.

Aeroflot and Transaero will need permits from the State Aviation Service of Ukraine for every single flight over Ukraine.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on August 7 that Ukrainian companies were banned from transit through Russia to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Medvedev added that flights of European and U.S. companies to the Asian-Pacific Region through Russia could be banned too.
