Russian foreign minister rounds up meeting with German, French, Ukrainian counterparts

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has rounded up his meeting with counterparts Frank-Walter Steinmeier (Germany), Laurent Fabius (France) and Pavlo Klimkin (Ukraine). Lavrov said that no major progress in the problem of constitutional reforms was achieved, RIA Novosti reports.

Agreements were fixed in the Geneva declaration of April 17, according to the Russian minister. In his words, none of the other ministers attending the talks were opposed to the declaration.

Lavrov noted that the sides discussed the 300 trucks with humanitarian aid organized with the IRCC. He said that Russia was ready to discuss extension of the presence of Ukrainian border guards and customs officers at the Donetsk Checkpoint. Lavrov emphasized that Russia wanted a ceasefire. He criticized Right Sector for its armed formations and urged the West to put efforts into making peace.

Lavrov spoke out against provisions of military assistance from NATO and the EU in Ukraine. He added that Russia had the right to enforce its security at the border.
