23 countries to monitor Abkhaz presidential polls

 

Chief Advisor of the Abkhaz Speaker of Parliament Galina Stranichkina said that the off-year presidential polls of August 24 will be monitored by 23 countries, including Russia, Armenia, South Ossetia, Transnistria, Nagorno-Karabakh, China, Japan, Italy, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Brazil, France and Finland, ITAR-TASS cites data of August 19.The Abkhaz Foreign Ministry has sent over 80 invitations to monitor the elections.The candidates for president are opposition leader Raul Khajimba, ex-Interior Minister Leonid Dzapshba, State Security Service Head Aslan Bzhaniya and Defense Minister Mirab Kishmariya.
