UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon says Russia and Ukraine should cooperate in the humanitarian sphere in order to secure a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
According to the UN chief, a unilateral move would only aggravate the situation.
The statement was made after a Russian humanitarian convoy arrived in the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk amid protests voiced by the Ukrainian authorities. Ukraine insists the convoy was moving without official permission and was not accompanied by international observers.
