Russian humanitarian convoy returns from Ukraine

The Russian humanitarian convoy, which has brought humanitarian aid to Ukraine's Luhansk Region, has returned to Russia, the Russian Federal Security Service says in a statement.

Some 227 lorries have taken part in the mission, RIA Novosti cites Russian Deputy Minister of Emergencies Eduard Chizhikov as saying.

The Russian official also notes that the Ukrainian authorities have recognized the cargo delivered by the convoy as humanitarian aid.

The reports concerning the conoy's return to Russia have been confimed by the OSCE.

Ukraine has previously said that the convoy was moving without official permit and called it an act of invasion.
