Opposition activist detained in Krasnodar

An activist of the opposition Republican Party of Russia - People's Freedom Party, Leonid Martunyuk, has been detained in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar. The activist is charged with hooliganism, his wife with disobeying police officers.

 

Martunyuk was a co-author of the Russian opposition's reports devoted to the Sochi Olympics and the results of President Putin's rule.

 

Martunyuk's colleague, opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, says the arrest was politically motivated.
