Next Monday, on September 1, 2014, North Ossetia will mark the tenth anniversary of a terrible tragedy that North Ossetia and Russia once suffered - the Beslan terrorist attack, which killed 334 people, including 186 children.
On the verge of this sad date, the head of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania, Teimuraz Mamsurov, hosted a press conference devoted to the results of the republic's development in the last ten years.
First of all, he stressed that Beslan today is alive and growing despite everything that happened to the town during those horriblle days.
Mamsurov noted that this day should not be treated as some kind of "anniversary". "All of us, and me in particular, are frustrated when people say the republic is approaching an anniversary. This is not the case, not even 11 years later, not even 111 years later. It will be just as painful, this grief has never left us and will never leave," Mamsurov said.
"Still we will live, work and raise kids against all odds," he said.
