U.S. does not recognize Abkhaz presidential polls

 

Spokeswoman of the U.S. State Department Jen Psaki said that the U.S. did not recognize the Abkhaz presidential elections of August 24 and reminded that Abkhazia was still a territory of Georgia, Interfax reports.Psaki urged Russia to withdraw its forces to positions preceding the conflict of 2008 and deny independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
