Abdullah Gul, the President of Turkey, telephoned President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today, according to the press service of the Azerbaijani presidential administration.
Abdulla Gul expressed satisfaction with the successful development of friendly relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan in many spheres in the period of his presidency. He stressed the special role of personal friendly relations with Ilham Aliyev in the sphere of developing contacts.
President Aliyev expressed gratitude to Gul and emphasized the contribution of the Turkish President in improving friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which rely on strategic partnership. He expressed his assurance that bilateral ties between the countries would constantly increase.
