Lomonosov Moscow State University maintains long and good relations with the Caucasus, the university's rector Viktor Sadovnichy said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"We have very good relations with Dagestan and with its head Ramazan Abdulatipov," he said. "He is an outstanding man, whom I have had the privilege of knowing for a long time. I have met him several times and we maintain very good relations with his republic."
"Moreover, we accept children from Dagestan, we have a special programme named "Russian for Dagestani schools", it is aimed at professional development of teachers of the Russian language in Dagestan and carried out in the framework of the agreement signed with the head of the republic," the rector said.
"We have recently signed a trilateral agreement with the acting head of Kabardino-Balkaria, Yuri Kokov, and the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Fortov, an agreement on the establishment of a scientific and educational cluster," the rector said.
He noted that the university maintains good relations with other republics of the region.
