US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is going to visit Turkey next week, the Pentagon's press secretary, Admiral John Kirby, is quoted as saying by Azerbaijani news agency Trend.
The Secretary of Defense is expected to meet with Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in order to discuss Turkish-Nato ties.
"Turkey is Nato's key ally in the region. Taking into consideration the country's position close to Syria and Iraq, one should note that Turkey plays an important role in regional security," the admiral is quoted as saying.
