Russian president visits Mammoth Museum

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited the P.A. Lazarev Mammoth Museum of the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutia, RIA Novosti reports.Putin observed the only full skeleton of a mammoth, 75% of its bones belong to one animal. Semen Grigoryev, the head of the museum, said that over 4,000 expositions had been collected since 2010. One of them is a 12,500-year-old dog mummy. The Maliy Lyakhovsky mammoth aged 28,000 has tissues and liquid blood. Scientists noted that they were cooperation with South Korean specialists to clone the animal.
