Kiev has started a mass project on the Ukrainian-Russian border costing 100 million euros called "the Wall". Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that it will be completed in half a year and be a reliable protection, RIA Novosti reports.
Igor Kolomoysky, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, discussed the project to enforce the border in early summer. He proposed construction of a 2000-km wall along the border, enforced by an electric fence, moats and barbed wire.
Yatsenyuk noted that almost all the loan of $10 billion from international organizations will be spent on paying off debts.
The Berlin Wall stood for about 30 years, splitting the world into two parts. North Korea and China have a fence between them, Pakistan is building the Pashtun Wall on the border with Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia plans to build one on the border with Iraq, Israel and Egypt build walls to isolate the Gaza Strip.
