Russian President Vladimir Putin approved Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s proposal to disband the Ministry for Regional Development, Rosoboronzakaz and Rosoboronpostavka. Medvedev clarified that authority of the Ministry for Regional Development had been distributed among other ministries during the reform (Ministry for Economic Development, Ministry for Construction and Housing and Utilities, Culture Ministry).
Putin noted that administrative structures had been organized to solve economic and social problems according to their territorial origin: the Ministry for Development of the Far East, the Ministry for Crimea Affairs and the Ministry for Development of the North Caucasus.
Functions of Rosoboronzakaz and Rosoboronpostavki will be distributed among the Ministry for Defense, Ministry for Industry and Trade, FAS and the Audit Chamber. The two structures, according to Medvedev, have solved certain problems in four years.
