Ukraine enters EU Association

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the EU Association Agreement after its ratification by the parliament. The agreement forms a free trade zone between the EU and Ukraine.

The sides signed the Association Agreement on June 27 to intensify cooperation, harmonize laws with European standards, grant products access to European markets. On September 12, after ministerial talks in the Russia-EU-Ukraine format in Brussels, adoption of the free trade agreement was postponed until December 31, 2015.
