Soviet and Russian film director Yuri Kara has proposed a ban on screening any American film in Russian cinemas in response to sanctions, RIA Novosti reports.
In his opinion, it would encourage Russian cinema to make more films. The director added that Russia lacked films about national heroes.
Yuri Kara is famous for such films as “Tomorrow was the War,” “Master and Margarita” and “Thieves in Law.” He is also an authorized representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
