Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov will make his first hajj to Saudi Arabia. His visit will last two weeks. Muftis will escort the official, RIA Novosti reports.
Ingush Prime Minister Abukar Malsagov will be the acting head of Ingushetia.
220 Ingush pilgrims left the Magas Airport today on their way to Medina. Ingushetia will send a total of 1620 pilgrims, including 38 escorters.
Ingushetia was given a quota for 1400 pilgrims this year but a total of 1620 will fly this year, about 80% of them making the first hajj.
Private vehicles will have limited access to the airport on September 17-24. A special bus will start delivering pilgrims from Ordzhonikidzevskaya to the airport at 11.00am every day.
