Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was special in the post-Soviet space because the UN Security Council had passed four resolutions to settle it. He reminded that Armenia was ignoring the resolution and continued occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani territories.
According to Aliyev, 1 million Azerbaijanis were refugees and displaced persons. The Azerbaijani president assured Turkey that territorial integrity will be restored sooner or later and thanked the country for support.
Concerning joint projects, Ilham Aliyev reminded that Armenia missed the chance to realize such projects as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasus Gas Pipeline. In his opinion, settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would create more opportunities for regional cooperation.
