Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin paid a visit to Azerbaijan this week. During his working visit the mayor discussed mutual cooperation, including Azerbaijani food deliveries to the market of the Russian capital, with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The mayor of Moscow also met with First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yagub Eyubov. The officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Moscow, and also a package of agreements consisting of 48 documents aimed at supplying Azerbaijani goods to Moscow.
Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the visit of the Moscow mayor to Azerbaijan and its results with Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Leonid Pechatnikov.
"Sergey Sobyanin is very glad that he was able to visit Baku. I myself was in Baku a year ago, and I was quite struck by this stunningly beautiful city," he said.
Speakiing about the practical results of the working visit, the official concluded that Muscovites will benefit from food supplies from Azerbaijan. "About 40 agreements were signed, most of them are associated with food supplies to Moscow," Pechatnikov told Vestnik Kavkaza.
