Nalchik will open the first pedigree and breeding center in the North
Caucasus Federal District as part of a program of developing
livestock, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press-service of the
Ministry of Agriculture of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The center has advanced equipment and will become a consulting
platform for livestock breeders in the south of Russia.
In October the second stage of the republic's program will start. A
dairy complex 'Zolskiye semena' will open in Zolskiy Region. It will
have 400 highly productive units of cattle.
Construction and equipping both facilities requires 650 million
rubles. Their launch will increase cattle productivity. Milk
production in Kabardino-Balkaria will reach 444,000 tons in
Kabardino-Balkaria in 2012.
