Cooperation between the UN and the CSTO became a subject of conversation of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the head of the CSTO, Nikolay Bordyuzha, which took place on September 27 in New York. In a message the UN General Secretary positively assessed the cooperation which is successfully developing in areas of crisis reaction and preventive diplomacy, the Afghan settlement, counteracting terrorism and drug trafficking, peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance and eliminating the consequences of emergency situations.
