Syrian Representative to the UN Bashar Jaafari said that the U.S. had informed Damascus about its operations against the Islamic State only once. He added that there was no precise information about civilians killed in the operation, ITAR-TASS reports.
U.S. Representative Samantha Power said that the U.S. was acting according to the security needs of Iraq and Washington. She assured that the US position towards Syria had not changed and the sides were fighting a common foe together. In her words, the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad served as a magnet for terrorism. The U.S. diplomat claimed that the Syrian opposition was fighting the Islamists more actively than Damascus.
