The latest, eighth round of negotiations between the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and the special representative of the Georgian prime minister Zurab Abashidze on restoration of economic, social and humanitarian relations between Russia and Georgia will take place in Prague on October 16. In anticipation of this meeting, Vestnik Kavkaza talked with the Georgian negotiator about the subjects to which the forthcoming negotiations will be devoted, taking into account the present level of relations between two countries. First of all, Zurab Abashidze noted that the agenda of the eighth round has already been created. "We will discuss trade and economic relations, transport communications, humanitarian and cultural issues. Now at our meetings we are speaking about everything that is connected with these directions. I will point out that more difficult questions, I mean our conflict regions - Abkhazia and South Ossetia - are discussed as part of the Geneva international consultations, and they also gather in October, next week," he said.
