Biden says U.S. allies paid Al Qaeda

U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden said at Harvard University (State of Massachusetts) that terrorists in Syria, including Al-Qaeda members, were financed by allies of Washington. He said that Turks, Saudis, residents of emirates and others were excellent allies, but that they were paying hundreds of millions of dollars and sending tens of thousands of tons of weapons to parties willing to fight Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and fuel the confrontation between Sunnis and Shiites, ITAR-TASS reports.

He clarified that the Al-Nusra Front, Al-Qaeda and other extremists were receiving their aid. Biden said that the allies had understood their mistake and had decided to join the counter-terrorism coalition of Washington.
