Russian Defense Ministry considers one-draft system inefficient

The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian MP Alexey Zhuravlev's idea of enlisting conscripts once a year, instead of twice, would not save money and will need more rallying centers, medical examination commissions and about half a year to pass all conscripts, RIA Novosti reports.

The new draft system would need more training centers and a bigger social infrastructure for 300,000 conscripts. It would also hinder the process of older soldiers passing their experience on to new ones.
