Turkish vice PM tries to calm population

Turkish Vice Prime Minister Ali Babacan has urged the population to stay calm and maintain stability today. He clarified that stability in the country will guarantee economic growth and added that Turkey could not take the path of Syria and Iraq towards chaos.

15 people were injured in mass protests in the provinces of Diyarbakir, Mardin, Siirt, Mus, Van and Batman yesterday. Curfews were imposed. Most of the protesters were Kurds, including ones in the ranks of the PKK.
