The USA and Iran, suspected of building nuclear weapons, had a secret
meeting which may open unofficial diplomatic relations between the two
countries, Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’ reports, citing a source in New
York.
Earlier Moscow had declared its refusal to provide Iran with S-300
missile defence complexes, due to the international sanctions. At the
same time, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who arrived at the 65th session of the
UN General Assembly, said that USA and Israel are a global threat.
Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Ryabkov, said after
a meeting with the ‘six’ international mediators of the Iranian
nuclear program that Russia’s participation in the sanctions of UN
Security Council resolution 1929 does not end its military-technical
cooperation with Iran, RIA Novosti reports.
The six mediators are Russia, USA, UK, China, France and Germany.
