The 18th ‘Peoples’ Friendship of the Northern Caucasus’ bicycle race
has started today, dedicated to Adygeya Day, Yuga.ru reports.
Over 150 of the best sportsmen from Russia and CIS countries will take
part. They will undergo several stages and cover 4 regions of southern
Russia.
The race started in Pyatigorsk at 10:00 at Mount Mashuk, where it will
finish. Tomorrow the racers will cover 120 km. On September 26 the
race will continue in Karachay-Cherkessia. Group and individual racing
will be held at Arkhyz.
The hard stage will be at Zelenchukskaya Cossack village, where the
cyclists will ascend a 2020 m mountain. After that starts the longest
stage of the race – 145 km. On September 30 the racers will arrive at
Psybay point, Krasnodar Territory, where they will take part in a 110
km ring race on October 1.
On October 2 the group race will start in Labinsk, heading to Adygeya.
The final stages will be held on October 5 and 6 near Maikop.
