New US ambassador arrives in Turkey

New US ambassador to Turkey John Bass arrived in the Turkish capital of Ankara today, RIA Novosti reports. Right after his arrival the diplomat held a press briefing, during which he noted that the United States and Turkey "are long-term strategic partners."

"I have been to Turkey many times. I love this country and I am very happy that I will work here," he said.
