Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko expressed hope that Tajikistan would join the Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU). She reminded that the Eurasian Economic Community had been disbanded, but 56 agreements signed within its framework were still in force, TASS reports.
The lawmaker reminded that Russia had given benefits for Tajik migrants.
Makhmadsayid Ubaydulloyev, the head of the upper house of the Tajik parliament, noted that Tajikistan had always been keen on integration on post-Soviet space.
