Mubariz Gurbanly, the head of the State Committee for Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan, said that ihsans (commemorative repasts) will not be banned in Azerbaijan. The Committee only wants to cut unnecessary costs at such ceremonies, explains the official, Trend reports.
Azerbaijani society is opposed to exaggerated spending on commemorations and weddings, according to Gurbanly. The official says that the State Committee only recommended spending less on such events. In his words, the Caucasus Muslim Administration shared the opinion of the State Committee.
