Political situation in Georgia may undermine country's integration into EU

The current political situation in Georgia may undermine the country's integration into the European Union, Vestnik Kavkaza's correspondent in Tbilisi Giorgi Kalatozishvili believes.

The correspondent informs that the European People's Party has condemned the current Georgian leadership's policies towards the opposition. The remarks were made amid discussion of the association agreement held in the European Parliament.

Representatives of the party insist that the document should not be signed until the Georgian authorities stop persecutions of former officials from the opposition United National Movement party.
