Iranian council protests against sanctions imposed on Sharif University of Technology

The Iranian Supreme Human Rights Council has protested against new EU sanctions imposed on the Sharif University of Technology, TASS reports.

Iran reminds that people have the right to education, and any attempt to put pressure on higher educational centers violates the UNESCO Convention against Discrimination in Education.

Brussels had earlier imposed sanctions on the Sharif University of Technology, but they were lifted by the Court of Justice of the European Union.

The Sharif University of Technology is a research and educational center in the center of Tehran. It was founded in 1966 and has been one of the most prestigious universities of the country. It has 10,700 students.
