Turkish Prime-Minister schedules parliamentary elections

Parliamentary elections are to take place by the end of the new
academic year, claimed the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip
Erdogan, reports 1news.az. “These aren't snap elections, we just want
to advance the date of elections,” he added. The term of the actual
parliament expires in September 2011, while the academic year ends in
July. According to surveys published in the press and internet, the
ruling party would win 40% of the vote, allowing it again to create a
single-party government.
