Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov has announced the elimination of Tarkhan Batarashvili, a leader of the Islamic State organization. He was also nicknamed Omar Ah-Shishani (“Shishani” means “Chechen” in Arabic), Kadyrov’s Instagram account says.
Videos of Omar Ah-Shishani have been appearing on the Internet regularly. He was calling himself the commander of a group operating in Syria and threatened to start a war against Russia in the Caucasus.
