North Caucasus may enjoy cheap electricity for 5 more years

 

Russian Minister for Energy A.V. Novak, Minister for Caucasus Affairs L.V. Kuznetsov, Head of the FTS S.G. Novikov were ordered to presented proposals on electricity sales in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia and Chechnya to the government by November 20, 2014, RIA Novosti reports.The low prices for electricity in the republics may be extended from January 2015 to 2020.Regulated prices for electricity were set in the North Caucasus in 2009 to support industry and business and improve the investment climate in the region. The North Caucasus pays only 2 rubles per 1KW/h, while Moscow residents, for instance, pay 4-5 rubles.
