Members of Georgian ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili’s United National Movement refused to listen to Speaker of Parliament David Usupashvili’s speech that followed President Giorgi Margvelashvili's and left the hall, News Georgia reports.
Margvelashvili’s speech was greeted with applause, although he was not asked any questions. Vice Speaker of Parliament Manana Kobakhidze clarified that the regulations did not allow MPs to ask the president questions during the speech.
Last week, the president asked the parliament to allow him to make a special statement to the public and give an evaluation of the situation in the country.
